Department of Utilities

The Department of Utilities is managed by the Director of Utilities, Stephen Stanziano, CPWM, and its Chief Engineer, Donald E. Somerset, Jr. PE, and provides potable water and sanitary sewer service to residents in the Township’s eastern service area. The Department oversees the expansion of the water and sewer systems, with all development application review, construction inspection, and final approval & project close-out performed by the in-house Engineering Staff. The Utilities Department is also the Township’s lead agency regarding the State’s plan for electrical deregulation and the State's recently enacted Stormwater Management Rules.

The operation and maintenance of the Township’s water and sewer systems is provided through a contract with United Water (732-914-1200), in conformance with NJDEP and USEPA rules and regulations.
